ABOUT TAN’S ESTATE
- Tan’s Estate spans 11 hectares within the ecotourism zone of Taman Wisata Alam Gunung Batur Bukit Payang.
- Taman Wisata Alam Gunung Batur Bukit Payang is a protected nature preserve within the Batur Caldera, recognised by UNESCO as part of the Global Geopark Network since 2017.
- The Batur Caldera and the geopark is located on an average elevation of 1,717 meters above sea level, spanning a total 2,086 hectares at coordinates 7o30’ LS 107o31’ BT.
- Perimeters :
– North : Desa Songan A dan kawasan Hutan Produksi Terbatas.
– South : Danau Batur dan Desa Batur Tengah.
– East : Desa Kedisan dan Desa Batur Selatan.
– West : Desa Kintamani dan Desa Batur Utara.
HISTORIC ERUPTIONS OF MOUNT BATUR
The sacred Mount Batur is an active volcano on Bali Island. Revered as a holy site by the indigenous Bali Aga people, with its first eruption recorded over 30,000 years ago in the neolithic era. The latest was in 1994 and the deadliest eruption in 1926.
