Why Lake Batur Cruises Are Trending Again
Bali’s tourism trend is slowly but surely starting to shift. Kintamani, which used to be just a short stopover destination, has now transformed into a premier destination with its exclusive tourist appeal.
Rising Visitor Interest in Kintamani as a Whole
In the past three years, the Kintamani area has no longer just offered views of Mount and Lake Batur from the roadside. This destination has evolved into a highland lifestyle hub. The emergence of various international-standard aesthetic coffee shops, beautifully architecturally designed viewpoints, and the proliferation of high-class accommodations around exclusive areas like Tan’s Estate have made tourists’ stays even longer.
With the increase in overnight tourists, the need for premium tourist activities has skyrocketed, making the presence of Lake Batur Cruise Kintamani activities a new star that must be included in any itinerary.
Media Attention Around New Cruise Investment in Bangli
This popularity became increasingly unstoppable when mass media highlighted massive investment plans in Bangli. Digital searches regarding the Lake Batur Cruise 2026 trend spiked drastically along with the bustling news about the planned launch of a high-tech, eco-friendly cruise on this volcanic lake.
This news sparked extraordinary enthusiasm from both domestic and foreign tourists who crave a modern water tourism concept. Unfortunately, misinformation often occurs. Much of the public misunderstands the media coverage and assumes that the modern ship has already docked and is ready to accept regular passengers for a Danau Batur Cruise. The reality is, there is a long process that still needs to be completed.

The New Eco-Friendly Cruise Investment Project
To avoid confusion, let’s objectively dissect the facts on the ground regarding the newly announced cruise project based on the latest public data.
What’s Been Announced So Far
Based on existing official publications, this new investment strongly emphasizes an eco-friendly concept. The main goal of the related stakeholders is to elevate Lake Batur’s tourism standards to a global destination while still preserving the lake’s ecosystem.
Its development focus is placed on sustainability and designing an exclusive tourist experience. This is planned to be achieved through the use of zero-emission engine technology and strict waste management. This initiative is certainly an extraordinary vision that will enrich the Lake Batur Cruise Kintamani ecosystem in the future.
Realistic Timeline Before It Becomes Operational
Although the concept brought forward is brilliant, tourists must understand that a massive-scale project like this requires a fairly long realization time. There are various crucial stages that must be passed, ranging from feasibility studies, Environmental Impact Assessments (AMDAL), operational permits from the local government, to the physical construction stage of the pier and the assembly of the ship itself.
Therefore, it is very important for you to be realistic about this Lake Batur Cruise 2026 issue and not assume that the project has already been opened to the public. Forcing yourself to look for tickets for a ship that doesn’t exist yet will only ruin your travel plans. Fortunately, for those of you who want to enjoy a cruise in the near future, Kintamani already has a brilliant alternative that is actually operating.
Royal Songan Cruise: The Cultural Cruise Already in Operation

Amid the hustle and bustle of waiting for the new project, did you know that there is actually already a special cruise ship traversing the calm waters of Lake Batur every day? Present as a pioneer in premium water tourism, the Royal Songan Cruise is the first cultural cruise in Bali that is fully operational to serve tourists.
This ship successfully marries the comfort of a modern cruise ship with the magical depth of ancient Balinese cultural heritage. The result is an authentic, grounded Lake Batur Cruise Kintamani experience that you can immediately enjoy today without having to wait for future projects to be completed.
The Tale of Balingkang Performance on Board
The thing that makes this cruise different from just a conventional wooden boat (jukung) tour is the entertainment served on board. While navigating the lake, passengers don’t just sit idly. You will be treated to a stunning live performance telling the Balingkang Legend.
This is a historical epic tale about the romance between the Ancient Balinese King, Sri Jaya Pangus, and a merchant’s daughter from China, Kang Ching Wee. Watching talented dancers perform this sacred and romantic play on the ship—accompanied by traditional music with the misty caldera of Batur in the background.
Route: Pura Jati Segara, Trunyan Village, Dewi Danu Statue
As a local itinerary expert, I rate the route taken as highly strategic and pleasing to the eye. This Lake Batur Cruise journey is specially curated to pass through the most iconic spots.
The voyage starts from the waters around the sacred Pura Jati Segara. The ship will then glide slowly along the magical silhouette of Trunyan Village (viewed safely and comfortably from a distance), until it gets close to the Dewi Danu Statue point—the goddess who guards the lake—standing majestically on the edge of the water. The steep cliffs of Mount Abang flanking the lake become the perfect backdrop for your photography sessions.
Comparing Experiences: Cultural Cruise vs Modern Cruise Ship
For those of you who might still be hesitant in putting together an itinerary, we have created an objective comparison table between the options available today and the project currently being developed:
| Aspect | Royal Songan Cruise | Future Eco Cruise Project |
| Operational Status | Fully operational | Still in the development stage |
| Bookable | Yes, daily schedules are available | Not yet open to the public |
| Focus | Culture, history & nature tourism | Eco-tourism & modern facilities |
| Experience | Live performance & sightseeing | Not yet fully announced |
| Suitable For | Current tourists who need certainty | Future tourists/investors |
Looking at the comparison above, it is clear that the most rational and satisfying option for tourists coming this year is to choose a ship that is definitely sailing. Its cultural touch makes the Royal Songan Cruise the main highlight among the Lake Batur Cruise Kintamani options today.
Pricing & Passenger Classes for Lake Batur Cruise
The operating ship’s management fully understands that tourists have varying levels of comfort preferences.
Satria Class vs Gusti Class
To meet these needs, the cruise divides tickets into two passenger class categories. Here are the differences:
| Feature | Satria Class | Gusti Class |
| Seating Area | Lower deck, semi-open style communal area. | Upper deck (Rooftop), a more private & exclusive VIP area. |
| Facilities | Standard row seating, close visibility to the main performance stage. | Premium sofa seating, unobstructed view, special snacks. |
| Experience | A very lively, interactive, and festive cultural atmosphere with other passengers. | A more relaxed, quiet atmosphere, cool breeze, and superior for aesthetic photography needs. |
| Suitable For | Large family groups, groups of friends, and casual travelers seeking an authentic vibe. | Honeymoon couples, content creators, photographers, and tourists prioritizing tranquility. |
This diversity of class options makes the Danau Batur Cruise activity very flexible, adjusting to your vacation budget. Given that the availability of VIP seats is often limited, make sure you check the updated ticket prices and direct availability on their official booking site.
How to Book
To ensure you get the best experience without any hurdles on the ground, follow these simple booking steps:
